She once feared the fire within her.
It burned Her, consumed her.
Afraid to embrace it fully,
She lost herself in the ashes of who she thoughts she was
She had grown comfortable in the darkness,
And it was the light,
That fierce, untamed light,
that once felt too vast to step into.
But step by step,
She learned to befriend the flame,
Slowly they began to dance.
She stopped fighting
And surrendered to the wisdom the fire had been keeping in secret.
As she stepped into her light,
The fire became a lantern on her path.
From its warmth, seeds began to grow,
Her whole self started to expand.
And she realized it was never the fire she feared,
But the brilliance she carried within it.
Now she knows:
The fire was never her enemy.
It was her teacher, her guide
And the spark that would lead her home.
